How tanzanite jewelry would have graced Oscars 2012?

So it had finally happened! The biggest runway had displayed many flamboyant fashion flicks. The homage to the silent era of film making was done through some extravagant black and white styles. Most of the starlets donned white, black, grey or silver silhouettes to show their respect to the retro trends.

Among the divas few picked diamond jewelry while others went with emeralds, rubies and sapphires and many others selected gold engraved jewelry for displaying their most stunning fashion senses. The jewelry had kept to minimal as the year’s trend. And many stars didn’t opt for any add-on. The fashion flair of less or no jewelry was on full swing.

It was not that the beauties didn’t look eye-pleasing yet just a piece of add-on like tanzanite earrings or ruby ring could create a much positive difference.

The girl with the Dragon tattoo’ actress Rooney Mara appeared in her signature looks but this time with white. She donned an art deco Givenchy gown and was seen sporting her Girl with the Dragon tattoo makeup and hair. The only companion to her 1930s art deco look was a diamond ring in platinum.

Rooney Mara Suggested Tanzanite Studs

Although she was quite serene but a pair of simple and classic tanzanite studs could add more drama to her otherwise plain looks. If she would have picked some vibrant colored gemstone earrings like these pear tanzanite and diamond border earrings, chances were that the always similar red carpet style of Rooney would get some sizzling addition.

In her pleated dusky lavender Alberta Ferretti gown, Sarah Hyland looked innocently gorgeous. The loose, low bun, bronze eye makeup and asymmetrical straps had added romance to her Oscars look. The ‘Modern Family’ star was among the few who didn’t go far any jewelry.

But for her soft lavender senses if she would have added a pair of butterfly tanzanite earrings then the lavender blue with golden and diamond sheen might have added much sheen to her Oh So Sweet flair.

Minimal jewelry is a nice concept. It along with more focus on ensemble gives more value to the fewer adornments you wear. But for an event as big as Oscars ‘no jewelry’ is not right. Either simple earrings or a ring with cuff or a choker is essential and elegant.
